Konouz, will you PLEASE shut up!

I thought the world has changed… at least people nowadays believe in God and science and fortune tellers and musha3witheen were something, well I thought, from the past… I could not believe my eyes today, I could not but feel disgusted at the level of ignorance and stupidity that seem to have prevailed so widely in our Arab societies… People actually still believe that other fellow human beings have super powers, know the future, and have angels and people who are so wasleen that they can change the past and the future…
Today I saw people lying and ripping other people off using religion and verses of the Holy Quran…
Imagine that this satellite station Konouz, and more recently another one called Shahrazad have fortune tellers that tell people they have mediums "up in the sky" that tell them what happens in other people's life. They claim to have super powers that help people avert envy and bad magic and cure illnesses by simply reciting some verses of Quran and burning beans or hair!
What teased me the most and made me hysterically rant and yell at whatever morality and wisdom there is in this universe is that people were calling those 0900 and 4-digit mobile number relentlessly and sending SMSs to this "non-profit" channel and asking the Sheikhs and Um Wael and AlMo3jiza sth to help them cure illnesses, find husbands and solve animosity problems with mothers-in-law and husbands…
What do we call this? what can we call this daring, filthy and flagrant violation of morals, ethics and humanity… can anyone stop these people… can anyone do anything so that they just SHUT UP?!!!

lool wallahi i had this same ranting stored in my brain the other day when my mother was watching this crap on tv. and i noticed the same thing you did, how they quote verses from the quran to give themselves religious legitimacy, when in reality they're mocking it.

and you cant decide whose worse...the host of the show, the fortuneteller, or the people that call in.

Oh, did you see the Jordanian Shaikh who was criticizing them on 60 minutes last friday ?He was hilarious, he said those who claim to be shaikhs while they have their shirts open showing off a huge bunch of gold pendants and calling all the ladies by 3yooni w 7ayati, he said this is not a shaikh, rather a pimp:)

Well that is the thing... I was told by many people that their wives and mothers are addicted to this channel especially to the show of Um Wael whose program airs in the afternoon, brilliant choice of time, women are done cooking and cleaning and are sitting watching TV.. This Um Wael places a vase of water in front of her and recites Quran... She told a woman to read Quran verses over some water and make whoever visits her drink from it once they get in! WHY? to prevent envy and 7asad... look how stupid.. imagine that people! God I am so angry at this channel....
The other day, a relative of mine called me and said Oula do u know how to delete a satellite channel, I said No but why? And she told me that she cannot but watch this Konouz and she feels that it is 7aram and figured out that the only way to stop her addiction was to delete it... Gosh!

People are free to lose their money even if it was in totally irrational ways, if you gotta close these channels you also have to close all the night clubs .... some people get entertained just doing so

it's totally stupid , they waste thousands on such crap
